Here is her Globat Review:
Horrible. I can’t count the times that I’ve visited my own website just to find that my browser times out before it even loads. This happens on IE, Firefox, Safari, and Opera. Even if it does load, sometimes it doesn’t load all the way so text is all screwed up and out of place.
I tried to reason with Globat a few times to see if they would switch me over to another server. It takes 15 minutes to even talk to a person and half the time they don’t even acknowledge you, they just take your complaints robotically as if they just want to fill out the complaint form and get you off the phone.
I honestly wish I could put a negative here. After two months (I wish I hadn’t stuck around that long) of being with them and losing who-know-how-many potential customers and sales, I finally got fed up enough to just throw in the towel and head for a new host. I will never again make the mistake of going to another “budget” hosting company.
Their pricing was one of their main draws for me but saving two or three bucks a month just isn’t worth the hassle. The whole reason that you pay for hosting is so that your website is up and running when you need it to be. When you consistently see that your website is down and you are losing sales, then how expensive is that cheap hosting becoming? Definitely not worth it.
Pretty standard stuff. Sign up, get login info, FTP your site to your hosting account. I shiver to think of what someone would have to go through if they didn’t know what they were doing and needed help, though. That would probably be quite a nightmare.
I had always heard about people having problems with hosting companies but I figured that a certain level of those complaints were due to exaggeration on the part of the customer. I really never thought that a hosting company could be this bad, but I now know how wrong I was. Run, don’t walk, away from Globat.
